Visions is a bit on the slow side. I’ve always just linked to a Flickr photo out of respect for copyright. A few days back we were struck by a stray bold of lightning and our brain momentarily cleared. STEVE MADDEN ULLTRA BLUSH $68
I am in love and I hadto get these nude pumps from Steve Madden. Why nude? Because it feels good to be naked. Ok that’s not the only reason why this sexy pumps goes with everything and it doesn’t take away from any outfit you put on. I think every girl should own a pair of sexy nude shoes. I couldn’t afford the pair of Christian Louboutin which cost about $595 (I would die for one!) so after hours of searching online I found these and they’re perfect since I can’t wear high heels these pair are perfect for any occassions, plus I think I’ll last longer in them if I was to go downtown and dance my butt off.
I had my first day in my studio to paint today for what seem like ages. I think not being able to has really given me a hunger for it. That and the fact there are a few unresolved paintings in there that tap at the back of my mind like a dripping tap. I was really struggling with how to move one on last time I had time to work on it. Its a painting that I am very excited about but it just was going so slowly.
A few things have happened since then though and it was interesting to see the effect that they had on my confidence and feeling for what I am doing. Firstly there was my meeting with my old lecturer Knighton Hosking that I blogged about a few posts back. Just seeing his work and hearing him talk so passionately about painting, and he kind of re assured me that it would all work out, all really helped. I had him in mind today(in a Obe wan kinda way!)
The other thing was a really fantastic meeting(by chance really) I had with a gallery at the weekend. I dont want to talk to much about it but I really had a great affinity with the owners, the space and the work that they were installing. That doesnt happen often but my instant reaction was one of recognition and feeling that them and my work could be a good match. To be completely honest just the knowledge that they are there and there is somewhere that my work COULD live one day is re-assuring .

There are images of this in progress from a couple of months ago, today I masked an area and started to build the surface around the figure into something that will start to feel like you are looking into the surface of the stream. There are some fundamental changes to the drawing to but they are impossibly to see on this image.

While I was painting I threw some paint in the direction of two old unfinished canvases, I have moved on from the images but it will be interesting to resolve them and see what they were meant to be.

I guess I have to get my figure drawing fix. Lastly I this evening I finished off another lino block and photographed it to so I could flip it to see what it might print like. here it is.

It is always exciting to get a print done and then I will start attempting to play with colours. This may be printed in a dark petrol blue on a warm yellow paper.

Allison came as a surprise for her fiance. Her photos came out amazing and I’m sure he was really surprised with his gift.
