But white? White is the color of purity, snow, tea cups, bridal dresses, of stoves and refrigerators and far too many cars. White is a blank slate, an empty page. White is just plain dull. Isn’t it?
No! White can be sexy. Very sexy! White lingerie lights me up. White lace brassieres. white corsets, white garter belts and garters, white panties and white stockings on good looking women make it hard for me — to breathe. Do you doubt me that white is sexy? As evidence I offer you these eighteen torrid examples in a single gallery called…
White, Wicked & Wanton
A few photos too bright for the gallery: witch, rabbit, bone, teeth, eyes, rice, socks, and clouds
Recent airport security lapses have once again revealed the shortcomings of modern screening technology.
The Obama administration, after a flurry of damage control, has unveiled a bold, yet refreshingly simple, initiative to bolster security of outbound flights from the USA. Codenamed “Garden of Eden”, the back-to-basics plan is lauded by a senior official to have “zero detection error with almost zero investment costs”.
Instead of a gauntlet of scanners, sniffers and detectors, passengers simply have to proceed through the “Garden of Eden”. Inside, passengers are required to remove all their clothes, including undergarments, socks and stockings. But the apparent genius of the plan, based on papers obtained by The Absurd News, is the as yet undisclosed proposal to allow passengers to opt for a nude sketch of them to be done by a resident team of artists. The papers say that such an unprecedented move would have a three-fold purpose: To allow passengers a chance to own a souvenir, to allow artists more opportunities to refine their nude drawing skills, and to generate revenue for each airport authority.
An acclaimed artist The Absurd News spoke to had his doubts. “For one thing, my peers and I hardly think that making sketch after sketch of hairy, overweight men would elevate our art form,” he said under conditions of anonymity. “And the proposed price of US$14.97 (after taxes) per drawing would certainly be prohibitive to all except the hardened souvenir seeker.”
Not to be outdone, the Australians are also keen to implement a similar initiative. A demarcated area on Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach will be used to process outgoing passengers. A lifeguard explained that passengers booked on outgoing flights who sunbathe nude in the special zone would not have to pass through the usual security checks at the airport. Apparently this is a creative attempt at extending the “downtown check-in” concept offered by many leading airlines. The lifeguard did, however, concede that Sydney officials have not been able to formulate a workable plan on how to transit the nude sunbathing passenger to his flight.
You know how they say save the best for last? Well, we think we did.
Meet Dorothy Iannone, apparently famous but a delightful and incredible find for us.
Iannone, an American-born self-taught artist, is known for wooden sculptures, mosaics and paintings that tell the story of her sexual experiences, especially those with her lover and muse (and artist) Dieter Roth. Not all of her work seems concentrated on “the nude” as a subject, but since all of her pieces manage to showcase genitalia, we think that counts.
Play It Again, by Dorothy Iannone
While her work seems to be a response to the feminist movement of the 1970s, Iannone was actually documenting her intimate love life through art in the 1960s. One particularly bold project, a book made listing all the men she’d slept with, appeared in 1967, and all of her work since has continued delivering the sexual overtones.
My Downtown New York of the '60s, by Dorothy Iannone... in the fine print there's a story about the first time she met Allen Ginsberg and he bit her on the stomach.
But… well… the sex, the nudity, it’s all so intimate, beautiful, colorful. It’s almost like a good relationship, complete with strength, power, vulnerability, security, demands and, most importantly, communication. No one can argue she’s not getting her message across.
Iannone, who had a run-in with fame in 1960 when she sued U.S. Customs for confiscating her copy of Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer (the title was banned in the U.S. at the time… the ban was lifted after a preliminary hearing), has been working without appreciation for most of her career and just started getting attention in 2005… in her 70s.
The Heroic Performance of Pastor Erik Boek... by Dorothy Iannone
A description of a show last summer at the New Museum called Lioness (which was Roth’s nickname for her) explained her work like this:
Inverting the gender paradigm of artistic inspiration, Iannone often painted Roth, her self-declared muse, depicting both him and herself as active lovers, comfortable with their desires and pleasure. By removing self-consciousness from her work, she dispels the taboo that so often surrounds sexuality, elevating it to an act of both bodily and spiritual union.
The bodily and spiritual union that comes from nudity is exactly why the LAL presents this exhibit every year. Our bodies, for all they do and all the represent, truly are heavenly.
I have been testing climax gem vibrators, and trying to be objective. I’ve learned something… Objectivity in the middle of an orgasm is impossible! I tried, oh how I tried. When I failed the objectivity test, I just tried again.
These are a fantastic vibrator, as they are small and discreet, yet the vibrations are powerful and intense. Each vibrator is a different colour, and a different shape. initially I thought that this was a gimmick, as they look to be built around the same motor unit. However, each one reached a slightly different spot, and felt a little different. I was surprised and impressed by the fit and the feel of all of these.
They are not a huge vibrator, they can be carried in your pocket or purse easily, so you can have them on hand when you want them. I love the colours, and the versatility. Vaginally or anally, all of these are good, with a partner or without (you see the lengths I go to to provide you with information?). As a smaller vibrator these are ideal as a first toy, or as a discreet addition to your collection. The vibrator is a bullet that is actually located in the tip, so the vibrations are more intense than if the motor was in the base. This a great idea, and is borne out through experience.
I find the colours and shapes very attractive, sexy and sensuous. This whole range has earned a place in my bedside cabinet, and I can see them getting more use than some of the others. I think I have a new favourite!
We don’t seem to get all of these in NZ, so I look forward to the rest of the range being available.
